REQUIREMENTS for the HPV Web/Server
- Operating System: Windows versions: 2000, XP, Server 2003
- Windows Component: Internet Information Services IIS versions: IIS 4, IIS 5, IIS 6
- Software package: .NET Framework versions: 1.1
- Software package: Microsoft® XML Parser (MSXML) versions: 3.0 SP4 or higher
Please note:
Order of installation matters. Normal order is IIS before .NET Framework. If .NetFramework is already installed and you install IIS afterwards you must do a repair run for .NET Framework. (Description follows).

How to check the windows version?
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del. A window appears including the name of the current Windows OS.

How to check whether IIS is installed?
Start Internet Explorer . Enter: 'http:\localhost' into the 'address' field and press 'go to'. If IIs is installed the explorer shows a welcome page of IIS, otherwise you get an error message.
How to install IIS on Windows XP ?
Open Start->Control Panel >>Software. Click on the Add/remove Windows components view. The Assistant for Windows components pops up and shows a list all Windows components. In that list the currently installed components have a check mark. Scroll for the IIS and set the check on IIS. Press next. A new configuration for Windows is made. Press finish.
(Please note: Windows may ask for the original Windows installation CD in some cases.)

How to check whether .Net Framework is installed?
Open Start->Control Panel >>Software 1 . Click on the Add/remove programs view. A list off the installed software packages is shown. Scroll to look for an entry Microsoft® .Net Framework 1.1 . If its there with the right version, it's installed.
How to install .Net Framework 1.1?
If not available, download it for free as dotnetfx.exe from Microsoft®. Following location: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=

How to repair .Net Framework 1.1? ( Only necessary, if you installed IIS after .Net Framework!)
Open Start->Control Panel >>Software 1 . Click on the Add/remove programs 3 view. Scroll to the entry Microsoft© .Net Framework 1.1 . Click the Hyperlink for at Readme. A page is shown in your browser describing how to repair the Framework. Follow these instructions.
A dotnetfx.exe is needed for that, which must have exactly the same version as the one you installed the framework originally. If not at hand compare the Framework version at the download page show above, with that version show of your currently installed version in the Microsoft® .Net Framework 1.1 entry in the Software dialog.
